For me, cockatoos with their unique crests are fascinating animals. They are curious, intelligent and jealous. They are attracted to their humans and become very tame, but tend to be jealous and hostile to "competitors". A great advantage when communicating with the cockatoo is its feather crest: it serves as a barometer of mood and an important signal of body language. You should always take them seriously - even a tender bite with the cockatoo's beak can be very painful.
